SCN-Resistant Soybean Variety Trials
Background:
Use of resistant soybean varieties is a very effective strategy for managing soybean cyst nematode (SCN), and numerous SCN-resistant soybean varieties are evaluated in SCN-infested and noninfested fields throughout Iowa by personnel from the department of Plant Pathology at Iowa State University. These are the only SCN-resistant soybean trials conducted in Iowa that report plot by plot nematode data in addition to standard agronomic data.
This research is funded, in part, by soybean checkoff funds from the Iowa Soybean Promotion Board, by funds from the Iowa State University Extension Integrated Pest Management program, and by entry fees paid by the seed companies who enter varieties in the trials.
