Dr. Mirko Ivanovic visited the Gleason lab from August to December 2006 as a USDA Faculty Exchange Fellow. Dr. Ivanovic is a professor of plant pathology at the University of Belgrade, Serbia. The primary purpose of his visit to ISU was to revise curricula for courses in plant pathology at University of Belgrade. While at ISU, Mirko attended numerous lectures in several courses in Plant Pathology and Sustainable Agriculture, guest-lectured in several of these courses, and presented a seminar to the Department of Plant Pathology. He is currently involved in a research collaboration with our lab, funded by a USDA/FAS grant, to characterize diversity of sooty blotch and flyspeck fungi from apple orchards in Serbia, then compare these fungi with SBFS species from eastern North America and elsewhere in the world.Dr. Mirko Ivanovic
