Botrytis rot

Botrytis rot, also called gray mold, infects berries and covers them with grayish brown, dusty spores. The mold can appear either in the planting or after harvest, and is favored by high humidity.

To manage botrytis rot:
o Plant brambles in full sun with good air circulation
o Promote air movement with proper spacing and pruning
o Prevent leaf wetness by watering from beneath or early in the day
o Harvest only firm, intact fruit, avoid letting berries become overripe, and remove any infected berries.
o Fungicides may be used throughout bloom to prevent infection.
