Dr. Harrington was on the faculty of the University of New Hampshire from 1983 through 1990 as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Chair of Botany and Plant Pathology. He has been a member of the ISU Plant Pathology and Microbiology Department since 1991 and has had a joint appointment in the Forestry (NREM) Faculty since 1996. He teaches Forest Insect and Diseases, primarily for Forestry majors, and Fungal Biology, primarily for Microbiology graduate students.
