Update from the south: There were nearly 100 new reports of soybean rust over the past two weeks. This includes reports in 20 new counties in Mississippi, 16 in Alabama, 14 in Louisiana, 13 in Arkansas, 11 in Georgia, 11 in Tennessee, 4 in Kentucky and Missouri, 2 in Florida and 1 in South Carolina. The finds in Missouri and Kentucky were the first for their states. We will continue to look for soybean rust in Iowa, but our sentinel plot network is rapidly winding down.

Upcoming reports: As the season winds down, so too will these reports. I anticipate continuing them for the next month or so, depending on any soybean rust related news. I actually am in Florida today traipsing through soybean rust-infected fields, ah the joys of life.
