Fellowship
Fellowship to participate in microbial genomics conference
The organizers of Xanthomonas Genomics Conference 2009 are offering a fellowship for exceptional US undergraduate minority students to attend the meeting. Xanthomonas is a large genus of Gram-negative, yellow-pigmented, plant-associated and plant pathogenic bacteria. Xanthomonas species constrain production of crops in many areas of the world, causing economic losses and hardship. Genomics is at the center of a revolution in Xanthomonas biology. Xanthomonas Genomics Conference 2009 will convene scientists from around the world to better understand this important group of bacteria and improve disease control and prevention. The conference will be held at Pingree Park, the rocky mountain campus of Colorado State University July 13-16, 2009.
