Stacey Barnes Graduates

The Baum lab would like to announce the graduation of Dr. Stacey Barnes from her PhD program at Iowa State University. During her time in the Baum lab, Stacey was involved in identifying and functionally characterizing the role of Heterodera glycines effector GLAND4, as well as identifying and understanding alternative spliced leaders in Heterodera glycines.   Her PhD dissertation was entitled "Plant-nematode interactions: a process governed by multiple genetic factors."  

Stacey is now the program coordinator for The Sky is the Limit Learning Community for Open Option students here at Iowa State University. As part of this she is conducting educational research on the effectiveness of learning communities with regard to student retention and academic success.
