Congratulations to Priyanka Surana for her Research Excellence Award from the ISU Graduate College. Priyanka  graduated in Spring/Summer 2017 with a PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology with a minor in Statistics under the direction of Roger Wise and Dan Nettleton. Her PhD dissertation was entitled “Membrane trafficking inresistance-gene-mediated defense against the barley powdery mildew fungus “. 

Priyanka has accepted a position at the Plant Breeding Institute in Sydney, Australia to work on Bioinformatics of rust pathogens under the guidance of Dr. Robert Park.
