On August 31, 2020, Iowa State University was supposed to host the SCN Coalition’s “ ’Tode Tour”, a large gathering of key farmers and agricultural media from across the US to learn about SCN management. But due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those plans had to be changed. With the help of communications firm MorganMyers, the SCN Coalition instead created “Let’s Talk ‘Todes,” a virtual event with a collection of videos that can be viewed on the SCN Coalition’s website. In the videos, farmers, university scientists and soybean checkoff leaders discuss best management practices and highlight how public-private partnerships and a soybean checkoff investment in SCN-related research are bringing new tools to combat SCN.

The videos feature Greg Tylka; Kaitlyn Bissonnette of the University of Missouri, and Sam Markell of North Dakota State University. Also in the videos are Matt Bierman, a soybean farmer from Mills County, Iowa and Ed Anderson, executive director of the North Central Soybean Research Program and senior director of research for the Iowa Soybean Association. These videos were created at Iowa State’s Field Extension Education Laboratory (FEEL) near Ames, IA in July and August.
