Research Scientist III

I was born and raised in central part of Nepal. I  received my B. Sc.  and M. Sc. degree in 1999 and 2003, respectively from Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS), Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal.  From 2004, I worked as a scientist in Nepal Agriculture Research Council (NARC) until I joined my Ph. D. program in 2009. I conducted research for NARC on epidemiology, germplasm evaluation, and resistance characterization against foliar diseases of wheat.  I earned Ph. D. degree from South Dakota State University in plant science in 2013. My dissertation research was on identification of source of resistance against bacterial diseases of wheat and mapping QTL for bacterial leaf streak resistance on hard red spring wheat. I am working at Iowa State University in the Department of Plant Pathology and Microbiology since July 2013. Currently, I am working on soybean and corn diseases with focus on develping management plan forr sudden death syndrome of soybean caused Fusarium virguliforme
