Lysine acetylation has emerged as a major post-translational modification impacting a diverse array of cellular processes. Acetyl groups are typically added to lysine residues by lysine acetyltransferases (also termed Histone Acetyltransferases) and removed by lysine deacetylases (also referred to as Histone Deacetylases). We are using a combination of next-generation sequencing (ChIP-seq & mRNA-seq) and proteomic profiling together with directed biochemical and genetic experiments to define molecular roles of lysine acetylation underpinning the response to biotic stress.
